Dr. Derek Pollard grew up in Coquitlam, British Columbia. He received a Bachelor of Science with honors at SFU where he majored in Kinesiology and minored in Biochemistry. After leaving SFU, he headed out east and attended the University of Manitoba Faculty of Dentistry and graduated with honors with a Doctor of Dental Medicine. Following graduation, Derek practiced general dentistry in Winnipeg, where he decided to pursue his passion for Orthodontics and apply to the University of Manitoba's graduate Orthodontic program. There he spent three years completing his specialty training in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics and obtained a Masters of Orthodontics.
Since graduation, Dr. Pollard and his wife Courtney relocated out to beautiful Kelowna and are very excited to start the next chapter in their lives. The Okanagan is a great fit for them since they love to keep active in their spare time with activities such as snowboarding, wakeboarding, golf, and tennis.
In addition to post-graduate honors and awards earned during his school years, Dr. Pollard brings with him a reputation of hard work and dedication to patient care. He is very excited to start up Mission Creek Orthodontics and looks forward to meeting you and addressing your orthodontic needs.
