Before & After

Check out some of the amazing transformations that our patients have achieved through orthodontic treatment.

Anterior Open-bite

Pre-treatment:

A robust forward tongue thrust can be responsible for open bite problems.

Post-treatment:

A retainer is commonly used to facilitate the closure of an open bite to stop the tongue from pushing the teeth open.

Open bite, Posterior

Pre-treatment:

The clients’ rear teeth could not touch due to intense sideways tongue thrusting.

Post-treatment:

Retainers are a vital tool to ensure success for this particular orthodontic correction.

Open bite, Surgical Closure

Pre-treatment:

Adult patients who are finished growing may undergo surgery to close and correct an open bite.

Post-treatment:

A surgical procedure may be required in conjunction with orthodontics to close the open bite and reposition the jaw. This combination can deliver jaw function and a positive aesthetic.

Overjet (Class II, Division I Malocclusion)

Pre-treatment:

The upper front teeth are prone to greater chances of injury due to their protrusion. A big overjet can allow damage to occur. In fact, the patient, unfortunately, fractured his left upper incisor not long after this photo was taken.

Post-treatment:

Once the teeth are straightened, the overjet is corrected. This dramatically reduces the chance of the teeth being injured. The clients’ left upper incisor was able to be repaired and he fortunately did not have to undergo a root canal.

Overbite (Class II, Division II Malocclusion)

Pre-treatment:

There are many disadvantages to a significant overbite. Besides compromising the smile itself, a deep overbite can lead to extensive wearing of the lower front teeth and can negatively impact TMJ functioning.

Post-treatment:

Correcting this orthodontic issue delivers improved jaw function and a balanced, aesthetically pleasing smile.

Underbite (Class III Malocclusion)

Pre-treatment:

Underbites can create tremendous jaw function issues along with cosmetic problems. TMJ injuries and damage to the enamel are common.

Post-treatment:

This common correction delivers an improved smile and enhanced functionality.

Crowding (Class I Malocclusion): Arch Development

Pre-treatment:

Crowding may be considered severe or moderate within the lower and upper jaws. These crowding problems can be fixed in growing clients.

Post-treatment:

Being able to keep all of the adult teeth provides a symmetrical smile.

Crowding (Class I Malocclusion): Extraction

Pre-treatment:

Excessive crowding may occur due to large teeth. This situation is commonly amended by removing some of the permanent teeth or the wisdom teeth to make more room.

Post-treatment:

With four permanent teeth removed due to the clients’ excessive tooth size, the end result is a wonderful, well-balanced smile and a functional bite.

Missing Teeth: Lateral Incisors, Canines Substituted

Pre-treatment:

The patient was missing her upper lateral incisors, as indicated by the arrows. As a result, her canine teeth moved forward to assume the position of the lateral incisors.

Post-treatment:

Our professional team reshaped her cuspid teeth in substitution for her missing lateral incisors. It is difficult to tell that any permanent teeth are missing.

Missing Teeth: Lateral Incisor, Replaced with Artificial Tooth

Pre-treatment:

The location of the missing right upper lateral incisor from a malformed left lateral incisor that exhibits a pegged shape is indicated by the arrow. There are times when it is not an option to close the missing tooth space.

Post-treatment:

Space has been opened up to allow bite imbalances to be corrected. A temporary bridge replaces the right upper lateral incisor. Veneers were used to improve the shape of the tooth. A permanent dental implant will eventually replace the right lateral incisor.

Missing Teeth: Lower Premolars, Spaces Closed

Pre-treatment:

The locations the patient is missing her lower second bicuspid teeth are indicated via arrows.

Post-treatment:

Since her upper second bicuspids were extremely crowded, removal was an option. This enabled us to balance the teeth in the upper and lower jaws. The spaces were closed without the need for dental implants and a balanced, harmonious bite and smile were achieved.

Crossbite: Anterior Crossbite

Pre-treatment:

Besides general cosmetic concerns, an anterior crossbite creates more risk of injury and lots of wearing on the teeth.

Post-treatment:

The patient can now enjoy a balanced and healthy smile.

Crossbite: Posterior Crossbite (Interceptive)

Pre-treatment:

A posterior crossbite may develop due to the under-development of the upper jaw. This type of crossbite is when the back teeth fit inside of the lower back teeth; resulting in asymmetrical features, permanent teeth crowding and a shifting bite.

Post-treatment:

We decided to offer an orthodontic treatment without braces to help the upper jaw develop to its ideal size. This process helped to stop the shifting bite and the crossbite while initiating adequate room for the adult teeth.

Spacing

Pre-treatment:

There are no major functional issues with permanent teeth spacing; although, orthodontic treatment can create exciting aesthetic improvements to a patient’s smile.

Post-treatment:

It is possible to dramatically improve ones’ self-esteem and self-image with a gorgeous, healthy smile.

Impacted Teeth

Pre-treatment:

It is common for second bicuspid and canine teeth to become impacted due to late eruption tendencies. Follow the arrows on the X-Ray.

Post-treatment:

Relying on a small surgical exposure combined with orthodontic treatment allowed us to transfer these impacted teeth into their best position for function and aesthetics.

Impacted Incisor

Pre-treatment:

This incisor became impacted due to a traumatic injury in childhood. The permanent tooth space disappeared since the injury happened during the younger years.

Post-treatment:

The tooth was able to be repositioned thanks to a minor surgical exposure and orthodontic treatment to amend the impacted incisor. A bit of gum loss is noted as a result of how severe the impaction.

Crowding without Extractions

Pre-treatment:

Patients can undergo orthodontic therapy at any age. However, certain techniques differ for adults. New techniques and orthodontic appliances and options are available. We can address issues that traditionally were only dealt with during adolescence.

Post-treatment:

A healthy and functional smile.

Crowding without Extractions

Pre-treatment:

Once facial growth has stopped, adult patients commonly undergo permanent teeth extraction to make room.

Post-treatment:

It is an excellent result when it is difficult to determine that two permanent teeth were removed to address overcrowding.

Surgical Overjet/Overbite Correction

Pre-treatment:

Orthognathic jaw surgery may be required to correct a large underbite or overjet in adult patients along with orthodontic treatment.

Post-treatment:

This client underwent surgery to lengthen the lower jaw to create more functionality and an aesthetically pleasing smile.

Surgical Under-bite Correction

Pre-treatment:

The underbite may be the most destructive occlusion type since it can generate a distinct imbalance to the form and function of the face.

Post-treatment:

This client underwent a surgical shortening of his lower jaw and a surgical lengthening of the upper jaw. Orthodontic treatment was also implemented to achieve a healthy and happy smile.

Complex

Pre-treatment:

Many adults detest the idea of wearing traditional, visible braces. Many people put their orthodontic options on hold due to aesthetic concerns.

Post-treatment:

Thankfully, new ortho appliances and options such as the Lingual braces and Invisalign can facilitate discreet corrections of a multitude of malocclusions. There are many options to achieve excellent results without relying on fixed metal brackets.
